Cronyism
In their report, cowboy operators Ian Kershaw and Eversheds said this about Moseley School:
We were told that the focus of the Governing Body at Moseley was the introduction of a daily act of collective worship and the appointment of Muslim staff to the leadership team.
Collective Worship is a statutory requirement and has been since the 1944 Education Act which Moseley School was in breach and confirmed by Ofsted in successive inspections of the school.
The allegation that the Governing Body wanted to appoint Muslim staff is a complete lie and without substance.
Cowboy operators Ian Kershaw and Eversheds should look at the highly dubious process that Highly Respected Headteacher (HRH) and opportunistTim Boyes used to appoint senior staff at Moseley School.
Contrary to the Local Authority’s Guidance on Senior Appointments, the Interim Head Teacher, Tim Boyes with the support of Local Authority officers made unlawful appointments in May 2009 of two Deputy Head Teachers for the School, notwithstanding the Chair of Governors had provided the Interim Head Teacher with the Local Authority’s Guidance on Senior Appointments as well as making repeated verbal and written requests to the Interim Head Teacher not to proceed with the said appointments until the Governing Body had established a selection panel. The Interim Head Teacher also ignored an e-mail from the Chair of Personnel requesting the date of interviews for Deputy Heads.
