Thelma Probert OBE

When the Moseley School Governing Body was disbanded in 2010 following a breakdown in relationship with the then Interim Head Teacher Tim Boyes - who saw himself as some kind of permanent Head of an anonymous amalgamation / Hard Federation between Moseley School and Queensbridge School (patently false) -  all the Governors were removed with the exception of Thelma Probert OBE, James Brown the Advanced Schools Teacher (AST) and Inderpal Lotay the Builder.

Did Birmingham City Council appoint Thelma Probert OBE as the first Chair of the Moseley School Interim Executive Board (IEB) because:

  • She had an outstanding track record as the Head Teacher of Golden Hillock School for 12 years where her best achievement was 24% of pupils passing five GCSE subjects at grades A*C?
  • She had an OBE for her services to education?
  • She was the School Improvement Partner of Queensbridge School whose Head Teacher was Tim Boyes?
  • When she was the Head Teacher of Golden Hillock School she had a baby faced Deputy called Mr. T. Boyes?
  • She wanted to earn loadsofmoney on the back of failing children on an industrial scale?

Does Thelma Probert OBE sit on the Head Teacher's Performance Management Panel? If so, how can she set the Head Teacher a target of 50% of pupils passing five GCSE subjects at grades A*-C including English and Maths and a stretch target of 60% when the best she ever achieved was 24%?

Thelma Probert OBE - School Improvement Partner (SIP)

Despite her track record, someone appointed Thelma (24%) Probert OBE as a School Improvement Partner (SIP) between 2005 and 2008 not in one BUT seven secondary schools in Birmingham:

  1. Aston Manor
  2. Baverstock
  3. Lordswood Boys
  4. Queensbridge
  5. Saltley
  6. Small Heath
  7. Wheelers Lane

Almost all of these schools serve pupils from mainly disadvantaged communities. Isn't it odd that Thelma (24%) Probert OBE was not appointed as a SIP in schools in mainly affluent areas of Birmingham? In 2010 Birmingham City Council appointed her as the Chair of the Moseley School Interim Executive Board (IEB).
